Front of House Supervisor

We are looking for a part-time front of house supervisor to join our team.

This role requires an experienced waiter/waitress to take on duties such as;

  • Managing emails from customers and suppliers

  • Stock taking

  • Calling guests and dealing with their enquiries

  • Managing a small front of house team

  • Delivering exceptional service

We are passionate about organic, healthy and locally produced food and like this to be at the forefront of all we do at the restaurant. The ideal candidate will be well presented, articulate and professional in their manner.

Hours: 2 evenings and 1 lunchtime (possible of more hours if wanted)

Apprentice Chef

We are expanding our Academy! Opportunity to work with John Lawson and his talented team at Food by John Lawson and be part of something special.

We have an exciting opportunity to work and learn as part of our team at Food by John Lawson.

As an Apprentice Chef you are responsible for assisting the kitchen brigade in the preparation and cooking of produce.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Complete preparation of produce as instructed

  • Adhere to the cleaning schedule for the kitchen

  • Maintaining stock rotation when taking in deliveries and using produce

  • Understand the functional administration of the restaurant, i.e., docket procedures, stations, table numbers, food labelling etc

  • To work as part of the wider restaurant team

  • To comply with legal requirements under the OH &S and food hygiene

  • Adherence to all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programmes

  • To escalate maintenance issues to the relevant parties

  • Knowledge of the full menu, and able to give a description of all dishes

Outcome, Results and Key Performance Indicators:

  • All food prepared to specification

  • Cleaning completed and recorded

  • Stock items used in the correct order

  • Ability to describe all dishes on the menu

  • All work areas set up and cleaned ready for other members of the team when you leave them

  • Tasks completed in good time

  • Food labels and temperature records completed

Job Type / Category

Apprentice Chef you are required to work 30-40 hours per week including Friday, Saturday evenings and Sunday lunch. This will be a 1 year fixed term contract, with a day per week at catering college (Likely to be Westminster Kingsway in London) The qualification will be NVQ level 1 & 2 in Food preparation

Salary: £3.70 /hour
